Students Sue for Tuition Parity With California Illegals
Students from 19 states on Wednesday filed a class-action lawsuit seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from California officials for charging them significantly more than illegal aliens pay to attend state-run colleges. The 42 plaintiffs say California state lawmakers and the University of California board of regents knowingly violated a federal law enacted in 1996 that says any state that offers discounted in-state tuition to its illegal aliens must provide the same lower rates to all US citizens. According to the plaintiffs’ attorney, some students in the University of California system could be eligible for as much as $300,000 in total damages.

Yes, I’m commenting on my own post. I just wanted to say that the word “illegal” has lost all meaning. If “illegal” aliens aren’t picked up and deported, if we actually know about them and are giving them in-state tuition, then apparently the word doesn’t mean what I thought it did.

Illegal used to mean something. Now it seems to be the start of society to understand a problem and ignore the issue.

I feel sorry for the California taxpayer. Maybe they pay attention to thier politicains. We sure need to in Texas.
