I know that there are some people still naive enough to think that if we only left those big corporations alone and they stopped having to worry about those cumbersome regulations, why they’d start acting in the public’s best interest and everything would be right as rain. For you, I give Exhibit A:
Comcast has been caught paying people off the street to pack an F.C.C. hearing about net neutrality so that their opponents wouldn’t be seated.
That’s the kind of behavior you read about in A) paperback thrillers, or B) political stories from prior generations. The lesson of the day is this: Never underestimate how low someone is willing to stoop in order to get his (or her, or their) way. That truism increases by a factor of ten when money is on the line.

Never underestimate greed. Enron, Worldcom….I think we need to return to teaching ethics in school, but I guess that would bring religion and the 10 Commandments into the public education system, and that would be the ultimate end of our nation….right? I mean teaching not to steal, murder, rob, etc., that would just be horrible.
