I know some of the people who read this blog. I know what common interests or happenstances of geography unite us. Yet for the lurkers among you, those who subscribe to the RSS feed but have never left a comment, you are a mystery. I don’t know if you’re here for the geek culture, the RPG insider info, or the wonderful growth opportunity in internet stalking.
I mention this, because I would expect many of my fellow sci-fi geeks to already know about Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. However, for you nameless, faceless lurkers, I take no chances. For those who may not know, the above link leads to the venue for a 3-webisode movie written by Joss Whedon. Who? Oh, that would be the writer behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Okay, so it’s got good writing and producing talent behind it. It also stars an alumnus of Joss Whedon’s work–Nathan Fillion, aka “Captain Malcom Reynolds”. Okay, that’s really cool. Oh, it also stars Neil Patrick Harris, aka Barny “How I Met Your Mother” Stinson.
Bam! Now you’ve got chocolate and peanut butter!

Now that I’ve explained why you should be paying attention to Dr. Horrible, here’s something equally important. This show is only going to be available for less than a week! It will run July 15 through July 20th. After the 20th, it disappears from the web for good. (Well, except for YouTube clones and Bittorrent.) At some point thereafter it will become available as a DVD with lots of extras. You don’t want to wait for the DVD though, do you? Just mark your calendars for July 15, 17, and 19, when each episode will drop.
