Bill McCoy of Adobe points out that the highly influencial book The Myth of the Paperless Office, published in 2001, is today selling as an e-book for $9.99 or $34.00 in print.
The Economist points out that we’re seeing a generational shift, “Older people still prefer a hard copy of most things, but younger workers are increasingly comfortable reading on screens and storing and retrieving information on computers or online.”
Going back to simple demographics, baby boomers are retiring and the ‘net generation is filling more and more of the workforce. I do have to wonder what all this screen reading is doing to our eyes.
