I didn’t mention that Tadpole 1 and I saw Wall-E last weekend. It was an enjoyable movie, and both of us had fun. I certainly don’t regret the cost of the tickets. That being said, I guess it’s just me but I don’t get the level of enthusiasm the movie seems to be generating in other people. Best Picture? I just don’t see it. I thought it was a fine movie, but in my opinion another Pixar movie, Monsters Inc., was just as entertaining and had more heart. The carefully crafted Little-Engine-That-Could-meets-Romeo-and-Juliet (with more than a dash of Inconvenient-Truth) must just strike a chord with people. Again, it’s a fine movie. I just don’t think it’s Pixar’s best.
Incidentally, I did really enjoy the Peter Gabriel song and accompanying art during the credits. That was cool stuff.
