Friday was my first day at the new job. Thursday I was treated to a first class send-off by my former colleagues. Unfortunately both days I was suffering from a sinus infection that left me feeling pretty bad–even after getting antibiotic–so I wasn’t firing on all cylinders. Despite the pain of leaving the security of my friends and colleagues at the old job, I left work Friday feeling pretty good about my choice. I can do this and do it well. I have a lot to learn, but that’s fine. I can learn it. Best of all, the new office has a pellet ice machine!
In other news (for the other job), 12 to Midnight’s store–Midnight Cellar–has successfully been moved from our old server to the new one. The store is now smokin’ fast. Even if you have no intention of buying stuff, please drop by and oooh and aaaah over the blazing page load speeds. (However, even if you have no intention of buying stuff, there’s more than two pages of freebies on the site, too.) I should also mention that the address changed. If you visit http://shop.12tomidnight.com you’ll now be redirected to http://midnightcellar.com. The store now has its very own security certificate registered to its very own domain name. It’s not really any more secure than it was before, because it was already secure, but now when you hit a secure part of the site it doesn’t flip to a different, strange address as a result of the shared security certificate.
It wasn’t much of a Superbowl for me this year. I’m still fighting this sinus infection (got better antibiotic on Saturday though), so I don’t want to risk kicking my immune system while its down by enjoying a cold brew. The tadpoles wouldn’t have let me anyway. They were keyed up all day and managed to keep me from the TV. Fortunately the Tivo comes to the rescue once again, and I have the game recorded. Of course, as I write this Sunday night Mrs. Flametoad just called me away from the computer to see watch a funny commercial– on my Superbowl recording! How is it that my wife is watching the Superbowl before me? I hope you appreciate the level of dedication I’m showing you.
