What’s the deal with webcomics lately?
I’ve been a PVP reader for more than 8 years, and I’d say that it has never been less funny or entertaining since Skull came back. I mean, seriously. I count myself as a big fan of this comic, but the magic has totally been missing. (Okay, Monday’s strip wasn’t too bad. I’ll give you that. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Scott is climbing out of his slump,)
I’ve only been reading CTRL+ALT+DEL for three or four years, but it sure seems like this series has taken a more serious tone ever since Lilah’s pregnancy. I really hope that Ethan and Lilah have been communicating off screen and are working on turning Christian’s plot in on itself. Otherwise things are about to get even uglier.
I’ve been reading Megatokyo longest of all. I can’t say I’m disappointed in it, only because I’ve long since concluded that this is a story that will never end. It’s fun, it’s amusing at times, the art is engaging… but the story moves at a glacial pace. If I looked at where the story was a year ago, I’d see almost no movement whatsoever. I should probably take a sabbatical and pick it up this time next year, but it’s easier just to keep it in my RSS reader.
Penny Arcade is… well, it’s Penny Arcade. It’s a guilty pleasure.
Wondermark. I really like Wondermark. David has a warped sense of humor. I like that.
So what other webcomics should I be reading that I’m not?
