I’m a project coordinator for a big e-commerce system being implemented across our entire campus. I’m also the president of a small RPG publishing company. I spend a lot of time planning, but sometimes it’s still not enough. Yesterday Cartoonlad gave me a good reminder about why details are important. There’s definitely lessons to be learned about how (not) to roll out a product demonstration. When planning a project of the scope of that rollout, some details inevitably get left off due to time constraints. It’s just a shame that this particular part of the overall rollout seems to be falling short.

Luckily, one of the four GMs have access to the quickstart rules from the Keep of the Shadowfell adventure. At least one other has access to the pdfs that were uploaded.
But that doesn’t matter — the game day kit should be a standalone product. That the actual rules for running the demo aren’t included… Well, I told the people running the demo it was “yet another brilliant move by the WotC marketing staff in a long chain of brilliant moves by both their marketing and public relations departments.”
