The deadline for the Writer’s Digest short story contest is December 1. They’re looking for stories of 1,500 words or less. Today is November 26, so that means you have 5 days. Call it 500 words a day and two days to polish. First place is $3,000, which comes to $2/word.
The only catch is there’s a $12 entry fee.
