Words of wisdom from a combustable amphibian.

Goodbye, Fred Saberhagen

Posted Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007 at 9:58 am

I have more than a few Fred Saberhagen books on my shelf (yet only a fraction of his body of work), and in this I’m not alone. Thus, it with a sense of loss that I help spread the word about his passing.

He is another one of those writers who made an impression not only on millions of readers, but so many other writers as well. In the next few days you’ll probably see more than a few authors blog about how Fred Saberhagen inspired or influenced their own careers. I mourn the novels never written, but at least your legacy is being carried on by some of those you touched. Enjoy your place in paradise, Mr. Saberhagen. You earned it.

About Flametoad

Flametoad is the personal website for Preston DuBose, a full-time e-commerce and credit card security professional for the higher-education market, a part-time RPG publisher, and a full-time husband and father.

I ignore conventional blogging wisdom and refuse to focus on a single topic. This website covers gaming, family life, marketing, security, literature, music, and just about anything else shiny that catches my eye.

Do you think I might be your long lost nephew, to whom you'd like to bequeath your vast financial empire? Find my e-mail address and read more of my bio on the About Flametoad page.

I get a small thrill every time someone bothers to respond to one of my posts. I get a big thrill when you post naked pictures of yourself. Well, not YOU.
