Did you know that one of the best ghost-related movies ever made is returning to theaters? Poltergeist is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special 1-night showing on October 4th at 7:30 pm. Even more amazingly, it’s actually showing in my city. I’ll definitely be talking to Mrs. Flametoad about a night out for this one. Sure, it may be a bit dated and some of the special effects leave something to be desired by today’s standards, but as far as just a creepy ghost yarn this one is hard to beat. When you think about it, movies about ghosts are a lot more rare than monster movies. Good ones are even more rare. If you’re free on Oct. 4th, you should definitely check if it’s playing in a theater near you.
